SAWIE is a platform that provides a distributed network of agricultural monitoring in Pakistan. Our system combines geospatial data with the power of machine learning and IOT to provide smart and sustainable solutions to farmers.
At SAWiE, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by SAWiE and how we use it. If you have additional questions or require more information about our Privacy Policy, do not hesitate to contact us.
This Privacy Policy applies only to our mobile application users with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in SAWiE. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website and application.

Information we collect from users
We need Default SMS Handler functionality to send and receive permission in order to validate users’ mobile numbers and generate OTP in case of password is forgotten.
If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, and the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.
When you register our APP, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as phone number, name, address, email address, profile picture, and contact number. WE have to validate phone numbers through OTP. Also in case you forget your password, we will recover it through SMS.
We also need to access your current location. SAWiE is a tool that captures your current location and helps you locate your fields where you can further mark polygon, add, and manage your crops and fields.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our service
- Improve, personalize, and expand our services and features
- Understand and analyze how you use our service
- Develop new products
- Communicate with you to provide you with updates and other information relating to the website, and for marketing purposes
- Send you emails, text messages, IVR alerts
- Find and prevent fraud
Users’ Rights
Under rules set by the Ministry of Information Pakistan, users of SAWiE application have the right to:
- Request that a business that collects a consumer’s personal data disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal data that a business has collected about consumers.
- Request that a business deletes any personal data about the consumer that a business has collected.
- Request that a business that sells a consumer’s personal data, not sell the consumer’s personal data.

Log Files
SAWiE follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.
Media
If you upload images to the app, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
SAWiE keeps your data safe and well maintained. We are very well aware of data integrity and security.
How long do we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register to us (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time.
