Transforming Farming for a Sustainable Future
Overview
At SAWiE, we are committed to revolutionizing the agricultural landscape in Pakistan by promoting regenerative agriculture, an approach that enhances soil health, conserves water, supports biodiversity, and mitigates climate change. Through our initiatives like the Regenerative Agriculture Cotton Cluster (RACC) and the Regenerative Agriculture Rice Cluster (RARC), we partner with local farmers to implement sustainable farming practices that benefit both the environment and the farming communities.

Regenerative Cotton
The Regenerative Agriculture Cotton Cluster (RACC), launched in 2024 in collaboration with Syngenta and Ittefaq Cotton Industries, focuses on transforming cotton farming in Bahawalpur, Punjab. By partnering with over 400 smallholder farmers, we’ve implemented practices that restore soil health and improve climate resilience.
Impact Highlights
Reduced chemical fertilizer use by
Reduction in Pesticides use by
Reduced water use by
Increased yield up to
Land preparation cost reduction up to
Reduction in GHG emissions up to
Raised Bed Planting (RBP): Reduces water use by up to 30%, improves root oxygenation, and promotes healthier crop growth.
Farm Composting: Training farmers to use farm waste and livestock manure as compost, reducing fertilizer costs by up to one-third.
Integrated Pest Management (IPM): Introducing pheromone and yellow sticky traps to cut pesticide use by 50%, ensuring safer pest control.
Leguminous Crop Borders: Enhances biodiversity by attracting pollinators and beneficial insects, increasing crop yields.
Livestock Integration: Utilizes natural grazing to improve soil fertility and sustainability.
RACC Promoting Sustainable Farm To Fashion Traceability

Regenerative Rice
The Regenerative Agriculture Rice Cluster (RARC), launched in 2023, is transforming rice farming in Sheikhupura and Gujranwala, Punjab. Partnering with Dawood Agro and Syngenta, we’re implementing sustainable practices across 500 acres, with plans to expand to 10,000 acres by 2026.
Impact Highlights
Reduced chemical fertilizer use by
Reduction in Pesticides use by
Reduced water use by
Increased yield up to
Land preparation cost reduction up to
Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD):Reduces water use by 40% and cuts greenhouse gas emissions by 41%.
Mechanical Transplantation: Improves plant population and reduces nutrient loss.
Laser Land Leveling: Ensures uniform water distribution, reducing water wastage and improving crop uniformity.
IPM and Early-Warning Systems: Protects crops from pests and diseases while reducing pesticide use by 29%.
