SAWiE Ecosystems, in collaboration with the Organic Cotton Accelerator (OCA), organised the OCA Organic Cotton Seed Commercialisation Event on 11 August 2026 in Lahore.

The event brought together seed producers, researchers, industry representatives, development partners and key stakeholders to discuss how successful organic cotton seed multiplication can be transformed into a commercially viable system that reaches farmers at scale.

    Key areas of discussion included:

    • Seed multiplication and purity

    • Seed testing and quality assurance

    • Traceability and certification

    • Commercial production and market access

    • Farmer adoption and access to quality seed

Seed partners also shared their field experiences, challenges and lessons learned, highlighting the practical steps needed to strengthen Pakistan’s organic cotton seed system.

The event highlighted the journey from 25-acre seed multiplication plots towards commercial-scale production, with a shared focus on building a stronger, more reliable and farmer-focused organic cotton seed ecosystem.

From Seed Multiplication → Quality Assurance → Commercialisation → Farmer Adoption

The journey has begun. Now, the focus is scale.
