The SAWiE team proudly participated in the Eco Textile Conference Asia 2.0 – Lahore Chapter at Expo Centre Lahore, an important gathering where global and local textile industry leaders came together to address the pressing challenges of sustainability and innovation in the sector.

The conference served as a platform to explore innovative eco-friendly materials including bamboo, banana leaves, and other sustainable alternatives, alongside discussions on the growing role of digital printing in significantly reducing freshwater consumption. Thought-provoking sessions highlighted key aspects of the textile industry, including environmental footprints, water usage, chemical impacts, and emerging global textile trends, all aimed at building a more transparent and responsible future.

The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) shared valuable insights into how traceability systems are being strengthened and organic practices promoted across the supply chain, emphasizing the importance of sustainable cotton production for a healthier planet. SAWiE actively participated in a panel on Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) and labor ethics, discussing strategies to create fairer and more equitable workplaces within the textile ecosystem.

During the conference, our team also explored exhibition stalls featuring advanced ginning and spinning technologies, as well as a wide range of textile innovations from China and across Asia, showcasing how technology and sustainability are converging to transform the industry.

This enriching experience not only expanded SAWiE’s knowledge of best practices and global trends but also reinforced our commitment to fostering a sustainable, responsible, and innovative textile ecosystem in Pakistan, ensuring that environmental stewardship, ethical labor practices, and technological advancement go hand in hand.
