🌾 Stakeholder Consultation Meeting Successfully Held in Shorkot, District Jhang

As part of the Rice Methane Reduction Project, SAWIE successfully organized a Stakeholder Consultation Meeting in Tehsil Shorkot, District Jhang, bringing together farmers, government representatives, agricultural experts, academia, and other key stakeholders to discuss collaborative approaches for sustainable rice production.

The consultation aimed to strengthen stakeholder coordination and promote the adoption of climate-smart rice farming practices that contribute to reducing methane emissions, improving water-use efficiency, and enhancing the resilience of Pakistan’s rice sector.

Key areas of discussion included:
• Methane emission reduction in rice cultivation
• Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) technology for efficient water management
• Climate-smart agricultural practices
• Sustainable rice production and natural resource conservation
• Strengthening partnerships for improved farmer livelihoods and resilient agricultural systems

The meeting served as an important platform for knowledge exchange, technical dialogue, and collaborative planning among stakeholders, reinforcing the shared commitment to advancing sustainable, low-emission rice production in Pakistan.
