SAWIE Ecosystems successfully conducted a Stakeholder Consultation Meeting in Layyah under the Rice Methane Reduction Project, bringing together farmers, agricultural experts, government representatives, and other key stakeholders to discuss practical solutions for sustainable rice production.
The primary objective of the consultation was to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders and promote climate-smart rice farming practices that improve productivity while reducing environmental impact. The meeting focused on:
• Reducing methane emissions from rice cultivation
• Promoting efficient water management through Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD)
• Encouraging the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices
• Enhancing farmers’ productivity, resilience, and livelihoods
• Building partnerships for sustainable and low-emission rice value chains
The consultation provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing, technical discussions, and collective planning to accelerate the adoption of sustainable rice production practices in Pakistan.
