Empowering Youth for a Sustainable Future – Uraan Pakistan at Oxford University
An inspiring gathering at Oxford University, where the Oxford Pakistan Society hosted the Uraan Pakistan event, Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, bringing together researchers, innovators, community representatives, the Pakistan diaspora, and UPSIGN to discuss the 5E Strategy of Uraan – Education, Employment, Entrepreneurship, Engagement, and Environment.
Keynote address by Honourable Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhary, highlighting the vision of Uraan Pakistan, asking for support from the diaspora to become the primary catalyst for driving innovation, investment, and the establishment of global bridges connecting international knowledge to the domestic industry.
The discussions underscored how youth and women empowerment, climate finance, and ESG-driven innovation can accelerate Pakistan’s journey toward sustainability and inclusive growth. We explored opportunities in water, health, and education, while highlighting Pakistan’s potential to reach $1 trillion in exports by 2035 through green innovation and global partnerships.
A key focus was on exporting net-zero textiles linking farm to fashion, and how technologies like AI and 5G can transform agriculture and rural livelihoods.
